• Vision Statement

    Crawford Bay Elementary-Secondary School is a small, rural, K-12 school on Kootenay Lake, British Columbia, with approximately 75 students. As a community of learners, we aim to:

    • Balance foundational skill development and prescribed learning outcomes with personal exploration and inquiry;
    • Engage our community and region in the learning process and school programming, with the classroom considered the ‘base camp’; and
    • Evolve the ideas of supporting each student with a ‘learner profile’ and developing with each student a ‘personal learning plan’.
  • Our New Building

    Crawford Bay School moved into brand new premises in the spring of 2009.  We’re very proud of our new school, which won a 2009 award from Sustainable Architecture & Building Magazine (SABMag).  For details of this award, click here.

    Our community raised over $800,000 to include an early childhood centre, fitness centre, and three community-use rooms in the new building.
